SEOUL, KOREA – LG Innotek, a South Korean electronics parts maker, said Wednesday that its second-quarter sales and operating profit stood at KRW 1.52 trillion (up 23.1% y-o-y) and KRW 35.7 billion (up 110.6% y-o-y), respectively. Its operating profit has been in the black for 6 consecutive quarters.
Sales rose 23.1% y-o-y but fell 1.9% q-o-q while operating profit surged 110.6% y-o-y and 125.4% q-o-q.
By business segment, LG Innotek’s LED business ascended 35% y-o-y and its substrate materials business logged a y-o-y growth of 14% in sales. Its optical solution business witnessed its sales climb a whopping 70% y-o-y on the back of strong sales of camera modules. On the other hand, sales of electric, electronic parts slid 21% y-o-y, pushed down by sluggish sales of power models for displays and wireless communications parts.

LG이노텍 6분기 연속 흑자... 2분기 영업이익 357억원
LG이노텍(대표 이웅범)은 지난 2분기 매출 1조5211억원과 영업이익 357억원을 각각 기록했다고 24일 밝혔다. 지난해부터 6분기 연속 영업이익 흑자다.
전년 동기 대비 매출은 23.1% 증가하고 영업이익은 110.6% 증가했다. 전 분기에 비하면 매출은 1.9% 줄었지만 영업이익은 125.4% 늘었다.
사업 부문별로는 조명용 LED 판매 확대 등에 힘입어 발광다이오드(LED) 사업 매출이 전년 동기 대비 35% 성장했다. 기판소재 사업 역시 고부가 반도체 패키지 및 터치윈도 판매 증가로 전년 같은 기간보다 14% 매출이 성장했다. 광학솔루션사업도 카메라모듈 거래선 다변화로 작년 2분기 보다 매출이 70% 늘었다. 반면, 전장부품사업은 디스플레이용 파워모듈과 무선통신 부품 사업이 부준해 전년 동기 대비 21% 매출이 감소했다.
회사는 3분기에도 수익성 개선 흐름을 이어간다는 목표다. 카메라모듈 등 제품을 바탕으로 고객사 신제품 출시에 대응하고 원가 경쟁력을 강화할 계획이다.
LG이노텍 관계자는 “강도 높은 원가경쟁력 강화 활동으로 견조한 흑자 기조를 이어가고 있다”며 “전 사업부문에 걸친 내실 경영이 수익성 개선으로 이어지고 있는 것”이라고 말했다.
