SEOUL, KOREA- The size of China's mobile Internet market reached 4.5 trillion won in the second quarter of this year. According to China's market research firm iResearch, the nation's mobile Internet market size reached 24.19 billion yuan in the second quarter, up 71.4 percent from a year ago and up 21.2 percent from a quarter ago.
iResearch said that China's mobile market has entered the phase of strong growth with the business model getting more diversified. In the Chinese mobile Internet market, mobile Internet shopping accounted for the largest share of 38.5 percent, followed by mobile value-added services with 36.1 percent, mobile games with 12.1 percent, mobile advertising with 10.2 percent and mobile search market with 3.2 percent.
Mobile value-added services, which accounted for the largest share during the period from the first quarter of 2011 (62.6%) to the first quarter of 2013 (39.8%), were overtaken by mobile shopping services.
