SEOUL, KOREA- Daeji Precision Industries is one of the oldest special vehicle makers in Korea.
Established in 1975 in Yongin, a town located in the south of Seoul, the company produces about 400 high-pressure water cannon vehicles, sprinkler trucks, and oil tanker trucks a year, accounting for 20 percent of all special vehicles produced in the country.

Since 2009, the company has aggressively moved overseas to sell more specially equipped vehicles. Now its export share in the total sales revenue of 22 billion won is as high as 70 percent. Daeji Precision president Cho Hyo-sang said in an interview with the Korea Economic Daily, "We will expand the range of market toward the Middle East and Africa from Indonesia and China that we serve now."

The company has thus far exported more than 300 special vehicles to ten countries including China. This year alone, it has shipped 68 water cannon vehicles to Indonesia and is set to ship 10 emergency rescue trucks to Vietnam.

Within Korea, Daeji is an OEM supplier of oil tanker trucks to Hyundai Motor. Mr. Cho said, "For 21 years since 1992, we have supplied oil tankers to Hyundai Motor, accounting for 30 percent of the auto maker's total output."
