According to industry sources on August 14, HVCC Global received an order for 40,000 units of air-conditioners that will be mounted on Tesla Motors' Model S. The 40,000 units of air-conditioning systems will be supplied from next year.
In the global automobile air-conditioning system market, HVCC Global commands a market share of 13 percent, ranking No. 2 worldwide behind Japan's Denso which has a market share of 22.7 percent.
The Model S is Tesla Motors' four-door sports sedan that was released last year. With an 85-kWh battery capacity, the Model S has a maximum speed of 201 km per hour. It can run up to 483 km with a single charge.
