The project calls for building a 1,000-megawatt power plant in Manjung, about 288 kilometers northwest of Kuala Lumpur, for the state-run power company Tenaga Nasional Berhad. The contract is expected to be completed by October 2017 after 45 months of construction.
Daelim said it would be the first construction project for the company in Malaysia in 13 years. It first entered the Southeast Asian country in 1974 on a contract to upgrade Sibu Port.
