SEOUL, KOREA- MCNEX, a specialist in the production of camera modules for use at smartphones and automobiles, is growing at a blistering pace this year. The company achieved record-high sales in the first half of this year and expects to do so in full year of 2013.
Key factors behind the robust performance of MCNEX included an increase in demand from Chinese mobile phone makers, including Huawei, plus the expansion of its customer base. Samsung Electronics recently joined MCNEX's client list. In addition, MCNEX is also growing at a rapid pace in the automobile module market, a market that has a high entry barrier.
An MCNEX official said, "Our main clients include Huawei and ZTE—China's No. 1 and No. 2 player in the mobile phone market. Backed by their strong growth there, we expect to be able to achieve record-breaking performance this year."
MCNEX is likely to achieve its annual sales target of 280 billion won without problem, up 30 percent from 2011 and up 60 percent from 2012.
