SEOUL, KOREA- Korea's largest machine tool manufacturer Hyundai Wia Corp. said on September 13 that it would participate in the EMO (Machine Tool World Exposition), the bi-annual European trade show for the metal-working industry, to be held for six days from the 16th at Germany's Hannover. The EMO is one of the four largest machine tool industry expositions in Europe and occurs every odd-numbered year.

In this year's event, Hyundai Wia will show off strategic machine tool models such as the "L800LMA," the heavy-duty CNC (computerized numerical control) turning center. During the whole length of the exhibition, the company said, as many as 100,000 guests will visit Hyundai Wia's booth of 900 square meters.

Separately the company will establish a technical center in Germany as a way to move into the European market in earnest. In addition to performing R&D and product development, the technical center will hold product demonstration sessions for promotional purposes and train customers who purchase the company's machine tool equipment. Last year, Hyundai Wia had signed agreements with Germany's major universities such as the Technical University of Berlin and RWTH Aachen University for technical cooperation in machine tool core parts development.
