SEOUL, KOREA - Naver announced that it signed an agreement with the Association of Korean Independent Film & Video to promote the development of the nation’s independent film industry.
Under the terms of the pact, Naver and the association will pursue active cooperation in a variety of areas, including the opening of offline film festival toward the presentation of online movies, aimed at invigorating the nation’s independent films.
The two parties will establish an “independent film theater” by expanding the existing Naver Online Theater that now provides independent films.In addition,they will also sponsor domestic independent film festivals, including the Seoul Independent Film Festival that will open from November 28 and the Indie Documentary Festival scheduled to be held in March 2014.
Since2006, Naver has been providing independent film services, while sponsoring a variety of short movie festivals in and outside Korea.
