SEOUL, KOREA - 11th Street, one of Korea’s leading online shopping malls, announced on November 26 that its annual mobile transaction amount passed the 600-billion-won level. This was the first time among Korea’s online malls selling items through mobile commerce to break the 600-billion-won mark in transaction volume.

An 11th Street official said, “After achieving a mobile transaction amount of 280 billion won in the first half, we strengthened the mobile service, selling additional 320 billion won items over the past five months.”

This is a meaningful milestone for 11th Street, particularly considering that large distribution channels, including department stores, discount retailers, and home shopping companies, recently strengthened their mobile shopping services.

The number of mobile transaction cases occurred this year at 11th Street is estimated at more than 15 million. As much as 21 percent of its clients purchased items only through mobile. The people in their 20s and 30s accounted for 80 percent of its total clients.
