
SEOUL, KOREA - The 4th meeting of Korea Industrial Technology Association Policy Committee was held on December 3rd at Seoul Palace Hotel, chaired by Sang-mok Lee, the 1st Vice Minister of Science, ICT & Future Planning.
The KITAP committee meeting is regularly held every year to systematically provide financial assistance for privately-owned industrial technology and government-funded research institutes.
The KITAP committee breakfast meeting was attended by an advisory panel consisting of members, including Co-head of the Korea Association of Science & Technology Kim, Soo-dong; IT Professionals Association of Korea Chairman Cho, Sung-kap; HYU Holdings CEO Lee, Sung-kyun; ETRI Vice President Hyun, Tchanghee, who are experts from industry, academic, and research institutes, and Research Community Support Division Director Lim, Seoung-cheol, in addition to the participation of Vice Minister Lee, Sang-mok. An exchange of opinions was held by the meeting attendees in regard to revitalizing technology holding companies and measures to construct a virtuous circle of commercialization of university-developed technologies with the financial aid of the Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning.
Vice Minister Sang-mok Lee concluded the meeting by saying, “This project will be operated on a trial basis to minimize any errors and various measures to expand the government’s funding will also be sought in order to boost the financial support for commercializing of private-sector technologies.”
