SEOUL, KOREA - Apple’s iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display will be released in Korea on December 16. On December 9, SK Telecom and KT announced that the two iPad models will be released in the Korean market, coming in four varieties—16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128GB. The price for each model will be disclosed later.

In North America, the iPad Air was sold at $499 (16 GB) and $639 (32 GB) with Wi-Fi functionality. The iPad Mini with Retina Display was set at $399 for Wi-Fi version 16 GB.

The iPad Air, whose sales began in the first-release countries, including North America, on November 1, features a thickness of 7.5 mm and a weight of 1 pound (450 grams), thinner than previous models.

The iPad Mini with Retina Display has a 7.9-inch screen size, similar to those of the previous model. Its resolution, however, is twice higher thanks to the adoption of a high-resolution Retina display.
