
SEOUL, KOREA - Samsung Electronics announced on December 12 that it grabbed about 50-percent share in Europe’s UHD TV market.
According to German market research firm Gfk Group, Samsung Electronics occupied a share of 48.3 percent in Europe’s UHD TV market in October 2013, up 15 percentage points from 33.3 percent a month ago.
In particular, Samsung Electronics passed the 40-percent mark in Europe’s largest TV markets—France and Germany. Samsung Electronics also enjoyed more than a 60-percent share in the markets of the UK, Switzerland, and Denmark.
Samsung Electronics is now conducting a global campaign to promote the sales of its UHD TVs which have real-like image quality. It formed a UHD content partnership with France’s largest broadcasting company TF1 and produced a UHD memo video.
