SEOUL, KOREA - The special version of a tablet mounted with Google’s latest Android OS Kitkat 4.4 is released at a price of less than 400,000 won. LG Electronics announced on December 10 that the official sale of the G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition has begun in the U.S.

Despite having an 8-inch size, the tablet is available at a relatively low price of $349.99 (about 390,000 won). The G Pad is the third model developed jointly by LG Electronics and Google following Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. G Pad 8.3 that LG Electronics released in October is optimized again to fit Google’s latest OS.

First among 8-inch tablets, the G Pad is mounted with a full HD display. By minimizing the thickness of bezel, its horizontal thickness is mere 126.5 mm. The G Pad is also mounted with a 1.7-GHz Quad-core Qualcomm SnapDragon 600 processor, a 4600-mAh large capacity battery and a 2-GB RAM (LPDDR2).
