Koreans Access Mobile Internet for about One and a Half Hour a Day

SEOUL, KOREA - The average hour of Korean people’s per-day mobile Internet access is estimated at one hour and thirty four minutes. The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) conducted a survey on the mobile Internet usage pattern of Korean people for 2013.

According to the survey, Korea’s mobile Internet users access the mobile Internet 12.3 times per day and stay there for one hour and thirty four minutes on average. Most of the mobile Internet users use smartphones (95.5%). The most used access method is Wi-Fi, followed by LTE and 3G.

93.7 percent of the respondents said they access the mobile Internet mainly at home, followed by public transportation (86.6%).

The main objective of usage is to acquire data and information (95.9%), to do communication like messenger and social networking services (94.6%) and to spend leisure time with videos and music (91.3%).
