SEOUL, KOREA - Kia Motors announced on January 2 that it sold 2,827,321 units last year in and outside Korea, up 3.9 percent from a year ago.At home, Kia Motors sold 458,000 units, down 5.0 percent year on year. In overseas markets, however, Kia Motors chalked up a 5.8-percent growth to 2,369,321.

The best-selling model was the Sportage R which was sold 407,587 units in Korea and elsewhere, overtaking the Pride.Following the Sportage R were the Pride with 380,041 units, K3 with 378,072 units, K5 with 327,196 units, and Morning with 258,311 units.
In the domestic market alone, however, the Morning maintained the top spot with sales of 93,631 units.Last month’s sales stood at 245,200 units, consisting of domestic sales of 41,021 units and overseas sales of 204,179 units, up 10.8 percent year on year.
