SEOUL, KOREA - Apple’s App Store achieved record-breaking sales of US$10 billion last year. The users of Apple App Store downloaded as many as 3 billion apps in December alone. Apple Inc. announced on January 8 that developers achieved $15 billion profits through App Store.
Apple added that last year’s successful apps included Heads Up! by Ellen DeGeneres, Moves by ProtoGeo, Afterlight by Simon Filip, and Impossible Road by Kevin Ng.
The apps developed by global development firms, including Candy Crush Saga, Puzzles & Dragons, and Minecraft, also enjoyed good responses from users.
Apple App Store is providing iPhone, iPad, and iPod users in 155 countries with more than 1 million apps and 500,000 iPad-dedicated apps.
