SEOUL, KOREA - Daewoo International announced on January 13 that it launched production activities at the Shwe Gas Field from January 10 following the Mya Gas Field in Myanmar. At the Mya Gas Field which launched commercial production in July 2013, 200 million cubic feet of natural gases has been produced per day.
With the launch of production at the Shwe Gas Field, the daily production volume is expected to reach its target of 500 million cubic feet by the end of this year.
The gas produced at the Gas Fields will be exported to China through inland gas pipelines or consumed domestically in Myanmar.
A Daewoo International official said, “With the launch of production at the Shwe Gas Field, we expect our Myanmar Gas Field earnings to expand further.” The gas fields that Daewoo International has developed in Myanmar since 2004 consist of Shwe, Shwe Phyu, and Mya areas.
