모든일에 얼마간의 모자람을 남긴다면 누구도 나를 시기하지 않으며

누구도 나를 해하려하지 않을 것이다.

대의

모든일에 얼마간의 여유를 두어 못다한 것을 남긴다면, 조물주도 나를 시기하지 않으며

귀신도 나를 해하려하지 않을 것이다.

만일 완전한 만족을 구하고 공까지도 가득하기를 원한다면, 안에서 변란이 생기거나

반드시 밖에서부터 근심이 올 것이다.
