SEOUL, KOREA - The K-Pop Hologram Performance Stage will open on the 9th and 10th floors of the Fit-in Shopping Mall in Seoul's Dongdaemun on January 18. With financial support from KT (8.3 billion won) and the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (1 billion won), the 1,650-square-meter stage consists of the concert hall and digital attractions.

At the concert hall, hologram shows featuring K-Pop stars such as Psy, Bigbang, and 2NE1 will be put on eight times a day. The digital attractions include the augmented reality elevator, the dynamic wall that opens up in the middle of the show, and the 270-degree view "media facade."

KT plans to establish similar performance stages elsewhere in Jeju and Seoul's Myeongdong for foreign guests from Japan, China, and Southeast Asia. In addition to the 1-billion-won subsidies, the ICT Ministry has disbursed 4.3 billion won to small tech ventures to lend support in hologram content development projects.

The admissions for the hologram show will be 12,000 won and 15,000 won for teenagers and adults, respectively, until the end of February. After the special promotion period, KT plans to charge slightly higher rates for the admissions. Lee Mi-youn, KT executive responsible for new business development, said, "We hope to make this place a must-visit attraction for foreign tourists."
