사람이 병이 잦은 것은 부끄러운 일이

아니지만, 평생토록 마음에 병이 없는

것은 매우 부끄러운 일이다.

대   의

수레를 뒤엎는 사나운 말도

길들여 다룰 수 있고

단련하기 힘든 쇳덩이도

잘 다루면 좋은 그릇이 될 수 있다.

사람이 하는일 없이 놀기만하면

아무것도 이룰 수 없다.

사람이 병이 잦은 것은

부끄러운 일이 아니지만

평생토록 마음의 병이 없는 것은

매우 부끄러운 일이다.
