SEOUL, KOREA – Taihan Electric Wire Co., a Korea-based company mainly engaged in the manufacture of electric wires and cables, said Tuesday it has signed a contract with the Australian State of Victoria to carry out a 66kV extra high-voltage cable project (worth USD 8 million), in which extra high-voltage cables will be supplied and jointed to connect substations in downtown Melbourne.
Taihan Electric Wire has been mainly doing business in New South Wales (NSW) - a state in the east of Australia. Thus, the latest deal marks this company’s entry into Vitoria.
An official from Taihan Electric Wire said, “We have become the first Korean firm that has won a deal from the state of Victoria. It is very meaningful in that we have found favor with an Australian state that has been somewhat skeptical about doing business with foreign electric wire companies.”
