LG Takes Steps to Take Leadership in Dehumidifier Market

SEOUL, KOREA - LG Electronics released a brand-new inverter dehumidifier under the Whisen brand, aimed at gaining a larger share in the domestic market. The cutting-edge inverter dehumidifier can automatically adjust dehumidification features.

Competition is heating up in the domestic inverter dehumidifier market as a string of domestic companies, including Samsung Electronics and Winix, released new models.

On March 25, LG Electronics unveiled two inverter dehumidifier models and one air-conditioner modelat the Nine Tree Convention Center in Seoul, Korea.

Inverter is a technology that is used for compressor, a core part of air-conditioner and dehumidifier. Unlike constant speed-type compressor where the motor works at a constant speed, inverter-type compressor automatically adjusts the motion depending on the degree of indoor temperature.

LG Electronics decided to use the Whisen brand, which has been limited to air-conditioner products, even for its dehumidifiers.
