SEOUL, KOREA - GM Korea released a brand-new compact-sized model to fuel the growth in Cruze sales. The car maker announced on April 7 that it has released the 2014 Cruze Design Package, a facelift model of Chevrolet Cruze that is added with a string of new safety specs.

The most outstanding change is the addition of safety devices. The 2014 Cruise Design Package is mounted with a dead-zone alarm device, first among domestic compact-sized models, which generates an alarm when other vehicle approaches from the side.

The design has also partially been changed. The front and rear bumper is chrome finished. A side skirt is attached on the bottom part of the side frame. The 17-inch metal gray alloy wheel is applied.

The Cruze is available in three varieties—gasoline turbo 1.4, gasoline 1.8 and diesel 2.0. The domestic sales of Cruze models stood at 4,082 units in the first quarter of this year, up 53 percent from a year ago.

The retail price of the 1.8-liter gasoline model ranges between 19.64 million won (LT) and 20.55 million won (LTZ), while those for 1.4 gasoline turbo and 1.4 turbo are set at 21.5 million won (LTZ) and 21.75 million won (LTZ), respectively.
