SEOUL, KOREA - The third-generation “New Mini” was released in Korea, with its price being lowered to the 20-million-won level.

BMW’s premium compact car brand Mini held a new car presentation at the Asia Publication Culture & Information Center in Paju in Gyeonggi Province on April 10 where it revealed the 3G New Mini.

The New Mini is a full-change model coming in seven years after the 2G model was released in 2007. The price of New Mini cooper is set at a little below 30 million won.

With earlier application of the tariff reduction which will take effect in July this year, along with the passage of the Korea-EU FTA, BMW decided to lower the price of Mini Cooper from 35.3 million won to 29.9 million won.

The basic Cooper model “High Trim,” added with premium convenience specs, is available at a price of 37.2 million won. The price of Cooper S, which features strengthened driving performance, is set at 42.4 million won, about 2.9 million won higher than existing 39.5 million won.

Compared to the previous model, the New Mini has a bigger frame, although it maintains Mini’s intrinsic design. BMW set annual sales target for the New Mini at 4,000 units.
