Why Do You Drive a Diesel?

SEOUL, KOREA - A survey showed that domestic drivers select diesel cars primarily due to their higher fuel efficiency and cheaper fuel prices compared to those of gasoline cars.The Diesel Business Division of Robert Bosch Korea revealed this survey results on April 18.

With respect to the question regarding the best strength of diesel cars, 55.8 percent of the respondents selected their excellent fuel efficiency, followed by cheap fuel cost (42.9%), superior driving performance (42.4%), and tax benefits (19.2%).The uncomfortable feel of driving, however, was selected as the biggest weakness of diesel models.

Since the first survey was conducted in 2008, this year marked the fourth survey. This year’s survey was conducted in six major cities in Korea during the period from February 14 to March 5, with 1,007 drivers aged between 20 and 59.72.4 percent of the respondents have gasoline cars, 19.2 percent diesel cars, 7.7 percent LPG cars, and 0.6 percent hybrid cars.
