SEOUL, KOREA – The Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank) said South Korea’s ODA (Official Development Assistance) gained USD 230 million year-on-year to USD 1.55 billion last year, marking the seventh consecutive yearly growth. In a situation where 15 out of the 24 members of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) have reduced their ODA contributions, South Korea has bumped up its ODA by 17.1%, the highest among the 24 member nations.
According to Korea Eximbank, Korea climbed one notch from 16th to 17th in ODA rankings. Korea’s ODA as a share of Gross National Income (GNI) increased 0.02%p year-on-year to 0.14%, pushing Korea up one notch to the 22th place. Korea’s 2012 per capita ODA amounts to KRW 34,924, up 5,460 from 2011.

우리나라 원조규모 15억5000만 달러…세계 16위
수출입은행(행장 김용환)은 지난해 우리나라의 공적개발원조(ODA) 규모가 15억5000만 달러를 기록했다고 밝혔다. 이는 전년대비 약 2억3000만 달러 늘어난 규모로, 7년 연속 증가했다. OECD 개발원조위원회(DAC) 24개 회원국 중 15개국의 ODA 규모가 감소한 가운데 한국이 가장 높은 증가율(17.1%)을 기록했다.
수은이 발표한 지난해 DAC 회원국 ODA 실적 통계에 따르면, 우리나라의 ODA 규모는 24개 회원국 중 지난해 17위에서 한 계단 상승한 16위를 기록했다. 경제규모 대비 ODA 수준을 나타내는 국민총소득 비율은 전년 대비 0.02%p 상승한 0.14%로 전년 대비 한 계단 상승한 22위를 기록했다. 지난해 총 원조 규모를 우리 국민 1인당으로 환산하면 3만 4924원으로, 전년도보다 5460원 증가했다.
