The scale of the design center more than doubled from 7,640 square meters to 16,640 square meters. This is the third largest among GM Group’s design centers worldwide. To expand the design center, GM Korea spent a total of 40 billion won.
The design center will be responsible for external and internal design, digital design, modeling, and studio engineering for GM’s global vehicle development program.
A GM Korea official said, “Our design center has played a backbone role in GM’s global design network. With this expansion, we expect it to continue to play an important role in the development of GM’s future product design.”
GM Korea’s design center has played a leading role in the development of GM’s best-selling models, including Chevrolet Spark, Aveo, and Cruze.
