SEOUL, KOREA - MKP Group, which runs a franchise pizza business Mr. Pizza, is speeding up efforts to gain a larger share in the Chinese market.Mr. Pizza announced on April 30 that it opened a store at the Golden Eagle Department Store on XinjiekouStreet in Nanjing, China.
Golden Eagle is China's large retail company which has established a joint venture relationship with MPK Group in the latter half of last year.
The Nanjing store is the first location MPK opened at Golden Eagle Department Store. This also represents MPK's 33rd location in China.
With a floor space of 285 square meters, this 120-seat store is located on the 8th floor of the department store.Mr. Pizza explained that it introduced an open-type kitchen for the store, allowing visitors to take a view of the entire process of cooking.
MPK Group plans to open five more stores in the provinces of Liaoning and Shandong within May. MPK Group intends to increase the total number of its storesin China up to 100 by the end of this year.
