According to its analysis of the sales by item for the fourth week of last month (April 24-30), purchases through mobile devices marked more than a three-fold growth (217 percent) compared to a year ago.
In particular, the sales of the items that are related with the Family Month gifts, registered a sharp growth. Bags and other fashion miscellaneous items recorded the steepest growth in terms of mobile sales. Their sales grew 314 percent year on year, followed by clothing for children with 303 percent and toys with 201 percent.
The sales of female clothes and cosmetics/ perfumes which are popular as Parents Day gifts also rose 214 percent and 186 percent, respectively, year on year.
Since it showed off its own shopping app in 2009, first among domestic online shopping sites, G-Market has witnessed a sharp increase in the share of mobile shopping in its total sales.
