During this event, the SSIC unveiled a new open-type healthcare platform "Samsung Digital Health," while presenting the vision for the healthcare business, one of the areas that Samsung selected as a new growth engine.
Samsung Digital Health covers both hardware and software, including the sensor to sense signals of bodies, the collection of data created through the sensor and the analysis of the collected data.
Samsung Electronics intends to intensively foster healthcare business since it is related with key functions for wearable devices. By developing healthcare hardware and software devices through Samsung Digital Health, Samsung Electronics plans to make bigger forays into the wearable device market.
On the same day, Samsung also showed off a wristband-type hardware platform Simband and a software platform SAMI (Samsung Architecture for Multimodal Interactions).
