Renault Samsung Enjoys 60.8% Growth in Domestic Sales

SEOUL, KOREA - Renault Samsung Motors announced on June 2 that its domestic sales reached 7,400 units last month, up 60.8 percent from a year ago. For the month of May, exports also rose 23.4 percent year on year to 6,132 units.

Renault Samsung’s May sales, including domestic sales and exports, totaled 13,532 units, up 41.4 percent from a year before. By model, the newly-designed SM3 came on top in terms of domestic sales, reaching 2,368 units, followed by the QM3 with 2,161 units. Following them were SM5 with 1,837 units, QM5 with 732 units, and SM7 with 297 units.

The domestic sales of the SM3 marked a 63.3-percent growth compared to a year ago and 45.8 percent compared to a month ago. In terms of exports, the QM5 came on top with 3,733 units, followed by the SM3 which marked a 55.9-percent growth compared to a year ago.

For the January-May period of this year, Renault Samsung saw its domestic sales rise 30 percent to 21,886 units, while its exports fell by 19.6 percent to 28,386 units.
