SEOUL, KOREA – Samsung Electronics said Monday it has released a new wall-mounted air conditioner which is rugged enough to function well in North Europe’s severe cold weather.
Even at minus 25 degrees Celsius, it can sustainably heat the air. Its temperature adjustment range is 8-30 degrees Celsius, wider than general air conditioners’ 16-30 degrees Celsius range. In consideration of North European consumers’ preference for eco-friendly products, it comes with a highly efficient, smart inverter motor. Besides, it has earned the highest energy efficiency rating of A+++. Also, this Wi-Fi-enabled air conditioner can be remotely controlled via smartphones.
“The design and components of this air conditioner were carefully thought out and planned to meet the needs of North European consumers,” said Shin Dong-hoon, the managing director of Samsung’s home appliance division.

삼성전자, 혹한지역 특화 에어컨 출시
삼성전자는 북유럽 강추위에 특화해 난방을 제공하는 `한랭지향 벽걸이형 에어컨`을 출시했다고 8일 밝혔다.
제품은 특수 설계된 실외기로 영하 25도 혹한에서도 안정적인 난방 성능을 유지한다. 일반형 에어컨(16∼30도)보다 넓은 8∼30도의 냉•난방 온도 설정 범위를 제공한다. 1도 단위 온도 설정이 가능해 실내 온도를 조절할 수 있다. 친환경 제품을 선호하는 북유럽 소비자를 고려해 고효율 스마트 인버터 모터를 적용했다. 에너지 효율 최고등급인 A+++를 획득했다. 와이파이 기능을 탑재해 스마트폰으로 에어컨을 원격 제어할 수 있다. 귀가하기 전 에어컨을 작동시켜 미리 집을 쾌적한 상태로 만들 수 있다. 신동훈 삼성전자 생활가전사업부 상무는 “혹한 환경에서도 사용에 전혀 무리가 없도록 설계부터 부품까지 모두 북유럽 고객에게 맞춰 만들었다”며 “앞으로 다양한 지역 소비자에게 최적화된 공조 제품을 선보이도록 하겠다”고 말했다.
