SEOUL, KOREA - Kia Motors has begun the official sales of New Carnival, setting the retail price for a nine-seat model at 29.9 million won-36.3 million won and 27.2 million won-35.8 million won for an 11-seat model.
The 3G New Carnival was developed in nine years after the 2G model was released. By applying the world’s first fourth row pop-up sinking seat, the loading capacity of the 3G New Carnival is expanded to 546 liters from existing 261 liters. The 3G model has a wheelbase of 3.06 meters, about 4 centimeters bigger than that of 2G model.
The New Carnival features a sporty bumper design, with its radiator grille, headlamp and rear combo lamp realizing a dynamic and splendid look. It is mounted with a Euro 6-complying R2.2 E-VGT diesel engine and a front drive six-speed automatic transmission.
It has a maximum output of 202 hp and a maximum torque of 45 kg.m, an improvement of 2.5 percent and 1.1 percent, respectively, compared to that of its previous model. Its compound fuel efficiency is 11.5 kilometers per liter, a 5.5 percent improvement compared to the existing model.
