SEOUL, KOREA – Samsung Electronics said Tuesday it has been awarded with Nemko’s green mark on its refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, ovens and vacuum cleaners. Nemko’s green mark is awarded to products which fulfill a range of eco-design requirements, ethical requirements for manufacturers and production control for factories. Founded in 1933, Norges Elektriske Materiellkontroll (Nemko) is a Norwegian private organization that supervises safety testing for electrical equipment manufacturing.
Nemko said Samsung products have met Nemko’s strict standards for product management systems, RoHS (the Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances), wrappings, batteries, noise, energy efficiency, electromagnetic waves, recyclability, etc.

삼성전자, 그린 마크 획득
삼성전자는 업계 최초로 냉장고•에어컨•세탁기•오븐•청소기에 대해 친환경 인증인 `그린 마크`를 획득했다고 9일 밝혔다. 그린마크는 유럽 안전 환경 규격 인증기관인 넴코(Nemko)가 개발했다. 넴코는 삼성전자 제품이 원재료부터 제조•사용•폐기에 이르기까지 전 과정에서 엄격한 친환경 기준을 만족한다고 밝혔다. 그린 마크는 제품관리 시스템, 유해물질제한지침(RoHS), 포장, 배터리, 소음, 에너지효율, 전자파, 사용 후 폐기 및 재활용 등 엄격한 기준을 통과해야 부여하는 환경 인증이다.
한백희 삼성전자 생활가전사업부 전무는 “생활가전 전 제품이 그린마크를 받아 업계 최고 수준의 친환경 기술력을 증명했다”며 “환경보호와 에너지절약에 앞장서는 제품을 지속적으로 개발하겠다”고 말했다.
넴코는 노르웨이의 국가 안전 규격 승인기관으로 1933년 설립됐다.
