Here are fine examples to demonstrate it all. Allegedly, it is said that one of the typical Japanese samurais would confess it before the father in church or before the Shrine of Yasukuni.

There, he revealed his ambition without any yellow streak that:

“By profession I am a professional soldier. I take great pride in that fact. As the first and finest soldier, I am full of an unbreakable spirit of the martial code, be the best and the first. It is my best powerful arms. So far I have done what I have believed. My action is ‘Justice’ in the face of any bloodier real war. Nothing is possible to beat me. Now I am hyperactive and invincible even if the world is filled with a red ocean.”

In it, there is not a non-committed speech at all. In light of the firm speech he must be Toyota. ()

Like him, another pretender has prinked himself up by thinking aloud that:

“Absolutely I have no intention to fly low. However, I do not think that ‘be the first and best’ is the best way to survive. Rather, ‘discover the difference’ can be a better way, I think. In this earthly world, I think, it is not possible to win the war without popularity from the people. Already, the rage to live has pushed me to be different in the competing world. Thus, I’m confident that I can survive in this chaotic muddle as a stylist to look for the chic.”

In light of his hearty speech, it seems that his motto is ‘Discover the Difference’. Yes they are a French Renault and his man Samsung. () And it seems that he believes that is the best way to survive the world.

At this point, his hidden agenda seems to be in the same line with the thinking of David Beckham, a worldwide football star player. One day some reporters asked him.

“Why are you going to the US Soccer Team?”

He said humbly.

“I’m coming there not to be a superstar. I’m coming there to be part of the team, to work hard and to hopefully win things. With me, it’s about football. I’m coming there to make a difference. I’m not saying that my coming over the States is going to make soccer the biggest sport in America. That would be difficult to achieve. But I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t think I could make a difference.

Actually it was not his speech at all. One century ago, the British statesman Churchill said that ‘Attitude is a little thing. But it makes a great difference.’

By quoting his speech, the football star, as if he had been one of his passionate followers, responded like that. And, it was a big hit. Then he has garnered the people’s popularity and great wealth, of course, with his handsome mask. Like him, the very competitor must have known of the power of the saying. And he, like Beckham, is now eager to get them all by making a difference.

A fourth contender spread out his mind apocalyptically with philosophical words as below:

“In origin, I’ve passion and ability in my mind and body. Passion is ability. And, ability is passion, I do believe. Without passion there cannot be ability to fulfill hopes and dreams. In this point, as for me, the most important thing is the passion of perfection. No passion, no perfection. What I am saying like this is that: If there is no pain there will be no gain. For the reason, I have toiled out strenuously with my steely heart and clean soul to reach the perfection. The toil will never betray me. Then power will follow me with popularity and glory in due time, I’m confident.”

He was Subaru. () In a sense, his speech was suggestive of that of Yuna Kim. She was famous for her fascinating and perfect performance as a figure skating star of Korea. In her book, the Seven Minute Drama, she made a candid confession that:

“Every day I read the Bible. In it, there is a word that ‘Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.’ I do believe it is true. AND I HAVE DONE MY BEST as such.”

Indeed the creed brought her into the Olympic Champion in Vancouver in 2010. (Below was her gorgeous performance as Bond girl in the 2009 Trophée Eric Bompard. Source: Wikipedia)

A fifth competitor, one of the world powers from Europe, has emphasized innovation by saying vocally to the people frankly that:

“Yes, the saying, the Passion of Perfection, is good and right. Accomplishments depend on endless efforts, entangled with sweats and eye-water. However, he has missed one point. It is innovation. Innovation is more important than passion. Strenuous efforts must be attuned to Innovation. It is the vital issue. Actually, Innovation is much more exciting and enjoyable in order to break rules in the earthly world. And then, real achievements can be easily yielded in the end. Then, boyish hopes and colorful dreams will come true. With the innovation, I’ll cope upon the odds and win the misfortunes even if those always irritate me.”

He was Peugeot. () In this sort of vindictive way all the gamblers have still believed that:

Today’s transpiration is Tomorrow’s triumph.”
