SEOUL, KOREA - Mando Corp., an automotive parts supplier under the umbrella of Halla Group, has completed a second plant in the U.S. state of Georgia. Halla Group chairman Chung Mong-won said in a speech at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, "With the new plant, I hope that Mando could become a truly global corporation."

On July 16, the company held an opening ceremony for its electronic parts plant and foundry in the new Hogansville plant, with Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and other local dignitaries, as well as the Halla Group chairman in attendance.

Mando's second Georgia plant was established in a 760,000-square-meter site provided free of charge by Meriwether County. The location is 20 minutes away from the Kia Motors plant within the same state and about 200 kilometers away to Hyundai Motor's Alabama plant to the west.

The electronic parts plant is capable of producing 600,000 electronic stability controls (ESC) and 170,000 electrical power steering (EPS) parts. The company plans to expand the ESC capacity to 1 million units by 2018. The foundry has an annual capacity of 18,000 tons.
