GM Announces another Recall of 823,000 Vehicles

SEOUL, KOREA - General Motors, which has been mired with a massive recall due to ignition switch defects, announced another recall for 823,000 vehicles due to six safety problems.The American car maker announced on July 23 that it decided to recall 823,000 cars, including 414,000 units which are found to have defects in seat height-adjusting bolts, and 124,000 units which have problems in welding of seat rings.

The vehicles subject to the new recall included Chevrolet Camaro produced between 2010 and 2012, Buick Legal produced between 2011 and 2012, and the 2014 versions of Chevrolet Impala and Chevrolet Caprice.

Among these vehicles are 1,919 units of 2014-2015 Chevrolet Spark models produced by GM Korea and exported to the U.S. market. The Chevrolet Spark vehicles to be recalled are found to have problems in the control of steering wheels due to the loosening of control arm bolts.
