SEOUL, KOREA - Hyundai Motor is setting out to overcome the unfavorable exchange rate shock by releasing locally-tailored strategic models in and outside Korea.According to automobile industry sources on August 5, Hyundai Motor recently unveiled a teaser image of its new compact car i20 in Europe.
The New i20, designed by the Hyundai Europe Design Center, reflects Hyundai Motor’s design philosophy “Fluidic Sculpture 2.0” which represents the beauty of the nature.The New i20 realizes a splendid and dynamic look with a newly designed headlamp and bumper and a hexagonal grille.
The new i20 was developed as a strategic model targeting the compact car-centered European automobile market. It has been sold 386,000 units there during the period from 2008 when it was released first to May 2014.
Hyundai Motor plans to produce the new model within the third quarter of this year at its plant in Turkey and start selling it throughout Europe from September or October this year.
