The 45th story of a full-length business novel.
is the mascot of Renault. So it is diamond. In common, diamond is said to be king of jewels. In this point, the mascot signifies that:
“I’m the most important person (MIP) of the world like diamond to cut stones and steels.”
Actually his role model is the most conceited French monarch Louis XIV. He was the very famous figure, called‘Sun King’ in the past. According to the historical accounts, Louis said to his courtiers presumptuously bombastic words that:
“L’état, c’est moi.” (The State, it’s me.)
Like the word, he looked like an eastern monarch with a ‘diamond sword’ in the Middle Age, far from a western democratic king. (Below is the portrait of Louis le Grand at 36. Source: Wikipedia)
Correct, in light of the face and pose he seemed to be a man of pride with amour propre(self-esteem). In origin, he was not of the high-bred noblest family tree in Europe unlike the Habsburgs, which were the established and prestigious royal families in Europe. But, he, as an extraordinary vaulter, he was full of life and ambition. Then he sought for military expansion to be a strongest European figure. With overwhelming military power he made a sudden debut in the European theater as arriviste. In search for the glory of the French Empire, he waged overseas campaigns and brandished his political and military power over the entire Europe. Thereafter, he, as if he had matched or surpassed the emperors from the Hapsburgs, would say to his courtiers and generals proudly that:
‘I am the Sun King in the world like the Sun in the sky.’
Presumably, such an image from the Sun King might have instilled in Renault. Then he has cherished his great pride and pomposity. Then he has taken after his footsteps with the golden logo of diamond as if he were the reincarnation of the Sun King. In actuality, he, like him, thinks of himself as MIP (Most Important Person). And, like him, he is defiant of a grim reality of the world even if he had little power to match the current world powers. In this context, he, like the Sun King, has admired the past glory and thought deeply and seriously that:
“The AAA (American Auto Association) powers or Eastern Powers such as Toyota or Honda cannot be world powers. They are not traditional, prestigious world powers. THEY ARE SIMPLY EMERGING POWERS. According to the old tradition, the possibility of a world order must be accomplished by the traditional European Powers just like me. However, seeing the current situation the European Continent will lie in the most probable danger owing to the redoubtable forces by the German corps, especially VW. It cannot be ignored. Something like the check and balance of power will be needed for the eternal world peace. Besides, the American Big Threes, especially GM & Ford, and the eastern powers such as Toyota will be a great threat to the French empire. From this point of view, I need to prepare something for the rainy day by using diplomatic skills and making military rearmaments. Historically France’s hour of weakness was the entire Europe’s hour of danger because it was drawn into the conflict and struggle between the world powers. Thus, French rearmament is needed just for self-defense. And it can be achieved by the balance of military powers, but not a preemptive attack to others.”
Then he has proclaimed himself another Sun King in this century and decided to call for rearmament. So, he reorganizedas a cross-country military troop. Then he set out to create another French Empire and began military campaigns abroad. So far, he, like the Sun King, has built plenty of enormous bastions in the world – Dacia in Romania (), Oyak-Renault in Turkey (), Renault Pars in Iran, and other sites in Mexico and Brazil in American continent.
At around the same time, in his home ground, he has initiated promising alliances strategically. Those are focused on self-defense to cover his back from sudden attacks. By joining forces mutually he has made international treaties successfully with Benz () and Volvo (). Benz is a powerful German maverick. He is a potential rival to match the most overambitious German VW (Victor William). Nicknamed VVV, Volvo is a chin-up Northern sidekick from Sweden. And then Renault created his own advertising agency that was Renault Formula One (F1). At the onset of its creation he said that:
“We are not in Formula One out of habit or tradition. We're here to show our talent and that we can do it properly… Formula One is a cost if you don't get the results. Formula One is an investment if you do have them and know how to exploit them.”
In light of his speech he must have been eager to be a renowned French top liner in the world stage. And Renault F1 was one of his treadles to jump up onto the global silver screen. Yes, it was. And he has become famous to the world people with many trophies in the rally. (Below is a picture of Renault Racing Car in the 2007 British Grand Prix. Source: Wikipedia)
At around the same time, he would use the worldwide popular song, Jonney & Mary, sung by Robert Palmer to show his potential talent as if he had been another rising French celebrity. As a result, he could have made the Broadway debut successfully in the world stage. At this point, his meteoric rise is redolent of the sudden growth of the Sun King.
These days he is closely connected with Chinese, Russian and Indian powers. () The yellow-colored area below is the location of Renault’s factories in the world as of May 2008.
Meanwhile, the would-be Sun King sent one of his great army into the Far East shortly before the turn of the 21st century. It would be his point d’appui(militarily staging point) for his Asian campaign. Before the campaign in Asia he selected an oriental kingdom in the Japanese archipelago. Of course, such a decision was made to check and balance the world Powers. And the target for the goal was Nissan ().
At the time Nissan had been suffering from financial difficulties. At his financial pinch, so-called world powers thought inside and foreseen his future negatively that:
“Nissan has already crumpled hard to the ground. His death is a matter of time.”
But the would-be Sun King thought quite differently. From his ailing desperate situation he saw an opportunity to build up his own Asian Empire. There, he sent an eligible general. Of course, the general was the very man the French king appointed as most trustworthy general with stunning perceptive faculties. There, it was natural that the mission for the general would govern the kingdom successfully. And it was clear that another duty for the king was to establish a jumping-off place for the future French Empire. The two ones were dependent upon the hands of the general.
