Today, whether it be elementary students or office workers, it’s very difficult to talk about life without a “Presentation”.

Business Presentation

In particular, major companies give presentations when they introduce new products or make an important announcement. Recently, the latest presentation tools have been used in various presentation circumstances, with “Prezi” foremost among them.

With Prezi, the presenter arranges ideas in a big empty space and explores them in visual order. It is like spreading the whole idea on a giant canvas rather than listing thoughts in simple slides or on pages.

Prezi is a presentation company which is currently growing fast and continually expanding its market in educational training in Korea.

Lee Do-won, CEO of Inbrief Communication

Now, let’s look at an excerpt from an interview with the CEO of Inbrief Communication, Do-won, LEE about Prezi and the future of presentations in Korea.

Hi, my name is Do-won, LEE and I run the company "Inbrief Communication", which specializes in making presentation materials. In 2011, I wrote a book - "Storytelling Presentation - PREZI" - and started to prepare Prezi materials as well as classes about it.

Like the name of my company, I tried to make Prezi simple and easy to use so my clients can deliver their ideas to their customers visually using info-graphic.

I first encountered Prezi while using an SNS aimed at English language instruction. I liked the idea of how a presenter could deliver their thoughts dynamically, which cannot be done in Powerpoint. Since then, I started to study Prezi.

Powerpoint is an excellent presentation tool. However, I am sorry to say that a lot of people who use it do not know if they should focus on its technical abilities or its functional uses.

With the advent of Powerpoint 2003, when presenters became more concerned about how to make a fancy presentation rather than organizing their thoughts clearly and concisely.

I believe that Prezi is a powerful presentation tool, which helps presenters to deliver their thoughts with a focus on methods.

In Prezi, there is no special limit so everybody's thoughts can move dynamically from point to point. The presentation material may look simple, but its flexibility supplements the simple images well.

Business Pitch Prezi — Polygons

Prezi is a very simple tool. With a few clicks, anyone can use it. When we see Prezi for the first time, we become interested because it moves interactively and we realize we have not seen anything like this before. However, some people comment they get dizzy. So in my opinion, Prezi’s most attractive point is its framework and how presenters use it for successful presentations.

Recently, I taught a five-day course. Two thirds of the curriculum was about how to solve a story and the rest was about Prezi itself. Even if one does not have experience with Powerpoint or any type of presentation programs, they will gain a new perspective after this class. I only modified the presentation material, but the students changed on their own. I am satisfied whenever I see this type of change.

As I mentioned before, one of the most common responses I hear is that Prezi is somewhat confusing and hard to use in important presentations. Also, recently, I received a presentation request for a newly developed product and prepared for it accordingly. However, because of negative feedback I was very close to canceling the project. Therefore, I had to explain the positive aspects of Prezi. In the end, I finally got through to our senior managers, and we got a satisfactory result.

One project I did recently with WWF, was about "'Earth Hour" and how we can save the Earth by turning off a light. By zooming in and out, I could speak naturally about the importance of protecting nature. I would update these types of issues internally and publicize them with Prezi.

As a cooperative partner with World Wildlife Fund(WWF)’s “Earth Hour” campaign in Korean office, Inbrief Communication recently made a promotional video with Prezi and “Prezi” chose it as a one of the best examples in Korea. By zooming in and out, I could speak naturally about the importance of protecting nature. I would update these types of issues internally and publicize them with Prezi.

Companies consistently invest in educational presentations. I believe that presentations should and will change from simply watching and reading to having the speaker lead all the time. IN addition, presentation content, like images and info-graphic, will be simplified. And there will be tools which we have not seen yet. In some ways, presentations are going back to the basics.

From the presenter’s point of view, it’s important to convey everything, but if we overcomplicate the presentation, we can fail to deliver the most import messages. Therefore, it’s best to choose the main message, along with data which can explain it.

Presentations should be made with the point view of the listener in mind. It doesn't have to look good, but if can identify the source of the problems and arrange the presentation in an easily understandable format, it will be a good presentation.
