The 58th story of a full-length business novel.
Then a fourth man said about his recent activities as below:
“Yes, your concern and anxiety about the nation are fully understood. My feelings are almost the same as yours. Recently, I hear that his merchant fleets have advanced into the Japanese main islands here and there deeply. Not to mention the Chinese mainland where his men have made great businesses and marketing with them. So he is said to have gotten astounding wealth. In light of his successively great successes abroad, I am afraid, his ambition must be bigger than we have expected so far. This is my own concern. Frankly, like you, it is very difficult for me to make a good sleep at night whenever I think about the future of the country.”
Then he divulged his sinister mind to them that:
“From this point of view, in the long run, we had better execute him beforehand before seeing his rebellion in the future.”
It was the irretraceable conclusion in his speech. In light of his cussed speech and clear conclusion, he seemed to be another great patriot for the country. However, he was not a genuine patriot at all. He was merely a wicked man to harm the praiseworthy but irreproachable prince, Chang Bo-ko. Then another man followed by joining the conversation. Now he was a fifth man. All of a sudden he got up from the seat. Then he stopped their mouths and said indignantly that:
“Hey, men, don’t worry about him. There is a way to play it. You know, in general, so-called power lives on plots. And the plots live by the power. But the very plots are simply parasites against the power. If so, we had better eliminate parasites by using backfires. And it is the best way to maintain the power by making plots. And here, making plots can be justified because power is paramount.”
In this sophisticated way, he opined that it would be necessary to make a plot against him. And he stirred them to get rid of their political rival or potential enemy by making the dirty plot. Further he said to them about him that:
“Well, he is not such a fearful man as you speak. Even if he has a great wealth and a great army, we can do it something against him.”

Then he dastardly suggested some crooked idea in a specific way. And it was to use string-pulling behind the backstage. Specifically it was that:
“This time is a good chance to get rid of him for the sake of the country and our future and political interest. But, I do not believe that he, as a pretender to the crown, might revolt with his army sooner or later. Actually he was and is an honorable patriotic figure as we know of him very well. In this point, I do believe that he will not be against the country. Nonetheless, we will make him as a traitor against the country. It is inevitable to keep our political interest. Yes, private is first because power is paramount as our vested rights. And public is next. Yes, it follows the private. I think all of us here do not object my thinking but agree with me.”
Continuously he opined that:
“If so, what I mean is that we have to make something out of nothing to do harm upon him. For this, we can make pretentious rumor easily. Then we can spread it over throughout the country. Then, at a proper time, we will be able to wipe him out easily on the charge of revolt.”
It was a horrible and sordid but systematic idea to strike a blow at him. Indeed it was to dig the ‘pitfall’ against him. And, it would be an inveterate disease and an insidious wile against the bright future of their country. And it would be. Surely, such thinking was a partisan spirit. In general, partyism should yield patriotism in a healthy and normal community. But, as for the cussed courtiers at the ritzy court, power was paramount. Yes, personal interest was much more important than public welfare and patriotism. It was an irreversible reality. Correct, most of them had the same crooked mind as such.
Then a sixth man, like the former attendants, supported his pernicious idea in a crafty way by chuckling on his face that:
“Oh, yes. That sounds good. If and once he is eliminated at the stage, there is no evidence to undermine our plot. Nobody can find out it as our crime. We are the most powerful men in the country. So we have the responsibility to investigate his sudden death as a sort of assassination. By the way, the investigators are no other than the plotters. Right here, the investigators and the plotters are all the same persons. I mean that we are the very men. So, we cannot harm ourselves owing to the plot. For the reason, our involvement in the plot cannot be discovered absolutely. Even later time, it will be never detected, never found to the people, I am confident. And, that is the key for us to eliminate him easily. There is no problem in this case.”
Then he took a presumptuous pause for a moment. And he added more understandable explanations with some easy words as below:
“In conclusion, nobody can intervene in this turbulent affair. Nobody can investigate who the ringleader of the plot is. Nobody can find out how many persons are concretely involved in this assassination. Subsequently, the affair of his sudden death will be thrown into the puzzle if we do not try it thoroughly. But we are not fools at all. We are the very bad guys to kill him at the back. Thus, we do not have to investigate it correctly. Thus, nobody can find out the reality of the plot. Rather, if we assert that he was going to revolt for his old country, Baekjae, with his great army, the affair of his assassination will be able to be justified as a patriotic act. So there will be no problem even if we kill him with the complete and crafty plot. . . .”
Then he added much more that:
“Well, I think we all fully understand what I am saying to you. Indeed, there is nothing we need to worry about his assassination. Rather, it will be given another good chance for us to praise the killer as a great patriot on the ground that he barred his rebellion beforehand. Then he will be out of guilty from the crime with the same reason. Again, he will be able to be honored as a real patriot without any dishonor.”
Indeed, it was a greatly dangerous and most cunning idea. But it was a feasible idea theoretically and practically. Further, it was a sweet melody to their ears. Thus, the idea satisfied all attendants. Everyone laughed with good cheers. Heehaw and guffaw followed.
