Eager to take his life, all of them jubilantly nodded their heads and shook their hands. Then, they all said aloud in one mouth sinisterly that:
“That’s really an excellent explanation for the scheme. I’ll buy it, too. Really, you have striking and feasible ideas. Let’s start with the scheme step by step and spread it out immediately. Then, let’s watch our time.”
In this way, all the attendants were now to connive with each other as conspirators. And they were to accuse him of his sin in a dastardly way. Finally, all of them agreed unanimously with how to do, where to do, and when to do with what.
Then and there, they were to kill him by exploiting something special. After making the complete guile, they were dawdling around him and watching over his every step as if they had been the Grim Reaper. And then, they embarked a mean plot to undermine him. The underplot was incorporated into a rumor as below:
“Chang Bo-ko is originally of the poor and wretched family tree. By all accounts, he was a descendant of the lost country Baekjae(百濟). If so, he should have acted as a humble servant for the blue-blooded Shilla(新羅). Unlike his original status, however, he has become arrogant with some money. Then he pretends to pose a lord over the people. Further he has a formidable army under his command. By exploiting the army, he will be able to handily incite a rebellion in the name of rebuilding of the lost nation, Baekjae.”
Then he took a pause. Again he continued that:
“If he tries to do this sort of revolt with his soldiers they will support him and join his rebellion. Besides, most of the people around him are descendants of the lost nation. So, they might have missed the old days of their lost kingdom. For the reason, the soldiers and the people may join his mutiny willingly if he explains them about his plausible cause why he has to make a revolt. These days his military power is so overwhelming that he can easily capture the capital in his hands. At a proper time, he may declare himself king of the lost nation, Baekjae, on his behalf. Then and then, Shilla will be in a panic and great confusion by his rebellious troops. And then, the fighting will be developed into the civil war between the regular army of Shilla and his private seamen and soldiers. Then, the entire nation will be harassed, threatened and destroyed in the end.”
All of it was a groundless tale of a tub. Yes, it was an outrageous tall tale by the crafty plotters. However, nobody noticed the reality of the tale concretely. The Reality was that:
“Basically, the tale was fabricated by some jealous courtiers against him. Now they are too envious of his great success and reputation. Thus, they have made a cunning plot against him. Based upon the plot, the tall tale was made and incorporated into this sort of groundless rumor.”
However, the common people did not have any ‘filter’ in their bodies. It is quite different from the structure of a car. (Below is an engine air filter. Source: Wikipedia)
So they could not grasp any correct information from the plot as below:
“The rumor is plotted and created as a guileful wile by the dastards. And it was intended to harm him. So it is merely part of their cunning scheme.”
Indeed, the common people did not possess any filter from impurities. Again, in reality, they had not any correct information related with the rumor whether it was true or not. In origin, they had not been involved with such a national affair. Thus, it was not possible that they could recognize the inside of the tale by the plotters at the back door. Therefore, they couldn’t make a correct judgment who was right and who was wrong.
On the contrary, the tall tale and/or the rumor had a good advantage even if it was not true but false information. In itself, it had a plausible and justifiable cause. At first, some facts were true and correct. For instance, he was from a poor and humble family tree. And he was the descendant of the lost kingdom, Baekjae. Now he was a powerful figure with a whacking wealth and military power. All the facts were truly undeniable facts as clear evidences. Nobody can deny it all.
As for the crafty plotters, such creditable facts could be used as meshes to destroy him reversely. Right, the facts were good weapons to undermine and harm the target, the very man Chang Bo-ko. Specifically, it was so easy to devise a plot by using the facts. As the first step, they assembled all the facts. Then they made up some of facts with other false information they have already created. Then they could easily fabricate all the facts in a negative way. After that, they easily could cook them all into delicious and charming dish. Seemingly the dish looked to be so tantalizing one for the people. Here the dish was intriguing to the people. So they were likely to take it in their mouths without doubt. However, at the right time, nobody noticed the inhibited scheme that:
“It was wrought with a cunning and wicked craft. Soon, it will be transformed into a plausible rumor. Then it will be a poison to kill Chang, Bo-ko.”
As a result, the perfect plot was schemed. And the rumor would be disguised as a real truth when the people take it.
