SEOUL, KOREA - Everland, the theme park operator, announced on September 2 that it acquired a quality service certification from the China National Tourism Association (CNTA), first among Korea’s major theme parks.

The CNTA quality service certification was established in 2009 by the CNTA, a Chinese version of the national tourism administration, to protect the rights of Chinese tourists from unfair and compulsory travel and shopping practices overseas.

This certification is given based on a comprehensive evaluation of reliability, degree of tourist satisfaction and safety, which is conducted with shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, and famous tourist attractions.

In Korea, the certification was given only to a handful of major department stores, duty-free shops, and outlets. Everland has become Korea’s first theme park to win the certification.

Everland has worked on a number of initiatives to attract more Chinese tourists including, among others, the publication of guide maps in Chinese and Chinese-language announcements within the compound.
