SEOUL, KOREA – LG Electronics said Wednesday it received the top honor, International Winner Award, in the “large TV” and “future technology” categories at the CEM (Clean Energy Ministerial), held in New Delhi, India.
The Super-efficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment Initiative (SEAD), an initiative of the CEM, had evaluated the energy efficiency of TVs produced in four regions -North American, the EU, Australia and India - since October of 2012.
The LG Cinema Smart TV came out on top in the over 42-inch large TV category while the LG 47-inch LED TV was named the winner in the “future technology” category.
SEAD is participated in by 16 nations including South Korea, the US, the UK, Germany, France, Japan and China.

LG TV, 에너지 효율 글로벌 톱 달성
LG전자는 17일(현지시간) 인도 뉴델리에서 열린 국제에너지장관회의(CEM•Clean Energy Ministerial)에서 `대형 TV`와 `미래기술` 부문에서 1등상을 받았다고 이날 밝혔다.
CEM 산하 기구인 SEAD가 지난해 10월부터 북미•유럽연합•호주•인도 4개 지역 TV 에너지 효율성을 평가했다. 42인치 이상 대형TV 부문에서는 시네마3D 스마트TV, 미래의 에너지 기술을 적용한 미래기술 부문에서는 47인치 LED TV가 각각 1등을 차지했다.
SEAD는 에너지 고효율 제품의 생산을 권장하는 다국적 정부 회의 기구다. 우리나라를 포함 미국, 영국, 독일, 프랑스, 일본, 중국 등 16개국이 참여한다. 이날 시상식에는 윤상직 산업통상자원부 장관, 죠티라디탸 신디아 인도 전력부 장관 등이 참석했다.
