Seoul, Korea - LG Electronics and KT have joined hand to launch the 5-inch full HD smartphone, Optimus GK. The new smartphone to be launched on May 2nd, is an exclusive model for KT.
Optimus GK has a similar specification with Optimus G Pro launched in Japan, and inherited the minimal design of Optimus G, considering the consumer demand for a full HD LCD display.
The Zerogap Touch processing used for Optimus G was applied to Optimus GK to materialize the feeling of displayed graphics coming directly in contact with the user’s fingers. The strengths of full HD in-plane switching display, brightness, low power consumption, outdoor visibility and color accuracy were inherited by the new smartphone.
The pixel-per-inch shows how densely the pixels are arranged in a display, and Optimus GK has 440 pixels per inch. Optimus GK with large capacity built-in battery with 3100mAh capacity, is powered by 1.7㎓ quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and comes with 13 and 2.1 megapixel rear and front cameras.
The emotional user experience LG takes pride in was also adopted, including the dual-recording, VR panorama and tracking focus.

LG전자(대표 구본준)가 KT(대표 이석채)와 손잡고 KT 전용 5인치 풀HD 스마트폰 `옵티머스GK`를 내달 2일 출시한다.
옵티머스GK는 일본에 출시한 옵티머스G 프로와 사양이 유사하며, 풀HD LCD 디스플레이를 원하는 소비자 요구를 반영해 `옵티머스G` 미니멀 디자인을 계승했다.
옵티머스G에서 선보인 `커버 유리 완전 일체형 터치(Zerogap Touch)` 공법을 적용해 화면 그래픽이 손끝에 직접 닿는 듯한 터치감을 구현했다. 풀HD 액정수평배열방식(IPS) 디플레이의 경쟁력인 밝기, 저전력, 야외 시인성, 색 정확성 등도 계승했다.
디스플레이 화소 밀도를 나타내는 인치당 픽셀 수는 440ppi다. 배터리는 3100mAh의 대용량 내장형 배터리를 선택했고, 1.7㎓ 쿼드코어 퀄컴 스냅드래곤 600 프로세서, 카메라는 후면 1300만화소, 전면 210만화소를 탑재했다.
LG가 강점으로 내세우는 감성 사용자경험(UX)도 그대로 적용했다. `듀얼 레코딩` `VR 파노라마` `트래킹 포커스` 등이 대표적이다.
박종석 LG전자 MC사업본부장은 “스마트폰과 사용자의 감성적 교감은 새롭지만 익숙해져야 하고 편리함과 신뢰가 동시에 뒷받침돼야 가능하다”고 강조했다.
