SEOUL, KOREA - Millennium Seoul Hilton’s international buffet restaurant, Orangerie, is showcasing the cuisine of the Philippines during the month of June.  The buffet will feature traditional Filipino dishes created by guest chefs from the Philippines.

Though not as well-known as its Asian counterparts, the cuisine of the Philippines has many influences from Malaysia, Spain, China, India, etc. due to many years of colonization as well as its strategic location in the Asian-Pacific Rim, making the cuisine as varied as it is delicious.  Like in most Asian countries, rice is the staple of the Filipino diet, which is accompanied by boldly flavoured dishes.

Filipino is gaining popularity amongst gastronomes worldwide.  Popular dishes include lechon (whole roasted pig), adobo (pork or chicken simmered in a vinegar and soy sauce), pancit (fried noodles with meat and vegetables), kare-kare (oxtail and peanut sauce) and lumpia (fresh or fried spring rolls).  Filipino cuisine also features a variety of desserts made with sticky rice, coconut, condensed milk and other local ingredients and flavors.

The Orangerie lunch buffet is priced at KW64,000 for adults and KW38,400 for children aged 12 and under.  The dinner buffet is priced at KW69,000 for adults and KW41,400 for children aged twelve and under. Tax and service charge is included in these prices.

Also, every Monday is Kid’s Day at Orangerie.  Children twelve years and younger are able to eat for free when accompanied by an adult (1 child per adult).  Orangerie has a fun play area where the children can play when they are finished eating.

Orangerie’s international buffet offers a vast array of international fare in a cheerful and open environment.  Specially designed buffet units incorporate air cooled food showcases for maximum freshness, and specialty stations feature made-to-order pasta, Korean noodles and a carvery and meat grill.  Private dining rooms are available.

For reservations or enquiries, please call Orangerie at (02) 317-3143.
