Microsoft's First Tablet PC "Surface" Lands in Korea

Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013

SEOUL, KOREA - Microsoft's first tablet computer "Surface" has landed in Korea. Microsoft Korea held a press conference at a club in Cheongdam-dong in Seoul on May 21 where it announced that it will make an official launch of Surface in Korea.

This announcement came in about seven months after Surface RT was revealed in October 2012. Surface RT and Surface Pro will be launched officially on June 11. Surface is a tablet computer produced directly by Microsoft. To produce Surface, the software company has reversed its existing strategy of supplying operating systems only.

Microsoft Korea claims that the most outstanding strength of Surface is a perfect combination of computers and tablets. It looks like a thick iPad with a thin keyboard.

The most eye-catching feature of Surface is its touch cover with a keyboard function. It looks like a simple cover to protect the display screen. Once you open it, however, a keyboard shows up. With a magnet inside, the touch cover is detachable.
