SEOUL, KOREA – Samsung Electronics’ drum washers came out on top on the “What to Buy” list, published by Choice, a well-known consumer magazine in Australia. Samsung Electronics’ drum washers - WF1804WPC, WF756UMSAWQ - scored 82 points respectively to jointly top the list and another product (WF1752WPC) took the third spot with 80 points.
Australia’s largest consumer magazine Choice has been published monthly by the Australian Consumers' Association, a non-profit organization, since 1960. Choice evaluated drum washers in five criteria- washing power, rinsing, water use, clothing protection and dehydration. Products that received over 80 points were placed on the What to Buy list. Samsung Electronics explained that only the three Samsung drum washers obtained over 80 points among the total 21 drum washers tested by Choice.

삼성 드럼세탁기가 호주에서 `사야할 제품` 1~3위를 모두 석권했다.
삼성전자는 호주 소비자매체인 `초이스(Choice)`가 실시한 세탁기 평가에서 두 제품(WF1804WPC, WF756UMSAWQ•이하 모델명)이 82점을 받아 공동 1위에 올랐고 다른 제품(WF1752WPC)은 80점으로 3위에 선정됐다고 22일 밝혔다.
초이스는 호주소비자협회가 1960년부터 매월 발행하는 최대 소비자 정보지다. 세탁력, 헹굼력, 물 사용량, 옷감보호, 탈수효율 다섯 가지 항목을 평가했다. 총점 80점 이상인 제품은 `사야할 제품`으로 소비자에게 추천된다. 21개 드럼세탁기 중 80점 이상을 받은 것은 삼성전자의 3개 제품뿐이라고 삼성전자는 설명했다.
삼성전자는 이번 평가가 호주에서의 세탁기 판매 확대로 이어질 것으로 기대했다. 지난해 호주 삼성전자 세탁기 매출은 전년보다 38% 늘었다.
조용철 삼성전자 생활가전사업부 전무는 “친환경 고효율 제품을 선호하는 호주 소비자에게 호평 받았다는 점에서 고무적인 성과”라고 평했다.
