SEOUL, KOREA – More than one out of every 10 semiconductors sold in the first quarter of this year turned out to be manufactured by Samsung Electronics. One out of every three memory semiconductors sold in the first quarter was Samsung’s.
Market research firm IHS iSuppli said Monday that Samsung electronics grossed USD 7.77 billion in Q1 semiconductor sales, accounting for 10.5% of the worldwide semiconductor market. Though its share declined 0.6%p q-o-q, Samsung still maintained a double digit market share for two consecutive quarters.
The No.1 spot was held by Intel with USD 11.17 billion (15.1%). Sluggish demand for semiconductors following a downturn in the personal computer market in the first quarter was offset by Samsung’s growing sales of memory semiconductors for mobile devices.
In the first quarter of this year, Samsung Electronics’ sales of memory semiconductors stood at USD 4.72 billion, 33.3% of the global market.

삼성전자, 올 1분기 세계 반도체 시장 점유율 10.5% 기록
올 1분기 세계 시장에서 팔린 10개 반도체 중 1개 이상은 삼성전자 제품인 것으로 나타났다. 메모리 반도체는 3개 중 1개 이상이 삼성전자 제품이었다.
3일 시장조사업체 아이서플라이에 따르면 삼성전자는 올 1분기 77억7400만달러 반도체 매출 10.5% 점유율을 기록했다. 전 분기보다 점유율은 0.6%포인트 하락했지만, 2분기 연속 두 자릿수 점유율을 이어갔다.
1위 인텔은 111억6800만달러로 15.1%를 기록했다. 삼성전자는 올 1분기 PC시장 침체 등으로 반도체 수요가 약세임에도 불구하고 모바일용 메모리 반도체 판매 확대로 충격을 상쇄했다.
1분기 삼성전자 메모리반도체 매출은 47억1900만달러로 33.3% 시장 점유율을 차지했다.
