CJ HelloVision, a CJ Group company, has been aggressive in acquiring regional system operators this year to date. Following the purchase of Nara Broadcasting, the system operator covering northern Gyeonggi Province, early this year, the company has bought out Yeongseo (western Gangwon Province) and Honam Broadcasting (southwestern South Jeolla Province) at 48.2 billion won and 124.0 billion won, respectively, in June.
Including Jeonbuk Broadcasting, it is estimated that CJ HelloVision has so far acquired 530,000 additional subscribers. A CJ HelloVision official said, "As we have almost achieved the target in our acquisition plan, we will focus from now on more on creating synergies among existing and newly acquired companies."
